Dr. Komyathy and his staff have been working hard to keep up with the Facebook page and monthly blog posts for exactly one year now!  We have done tooth-whitening giveaways and offered special discounts to our patients.  We love hearing the feedback you have to offer and want to hear how we can serve you and your needs better.  Let us know if there is anything we can do to make visiting our office more enjoyable.  We hope all of you had a happy and safe Halloween, and wish you all a wonderful November!

Pumpkins, and cider, and candy! Oh My!  Happy October!  Halloween is approaching fast, and do you know what that means?  Candy!  Halloween is a fun time to dress up, decorate the house, and go door-to-door trick-or-treating.  But the spookiest thing about Halloween is the cavities that can follow.  After you and you kids indulge in the sweet treats that appear this month, be sure to practice good brushing and flossing habits.  Starting these good hygiene practices early means less money in unwanted dental procedures later.  We hope all of you have a happy and safe Halloween!

Do you take prescription or over-the-counter medications?  Did you know that it is very important to keep all of your healthcare providers up to date on these medications?  Even dentists, like Dr. Komyathy, need to know what you are taking so that they can safely prescribe the necessary medications needed for your treatment.  It is especially important to mention if you are taking any blood thinners or osteoporosis medications as these can have serious implications on your dental procedures.  Also, by telling Dr. Komyathy what medications you are taking, he can ensure that there are no drug-drug interactions if he needs to prescribe anything for you.  So, next time you have an appointment with us, make sure to update your list of medications!

Have you ever heard Dr. Komyathy use numbers to talk about your teeth?  These numbers correspond to a certain tooth and are used to quickly understand where a tooth is in relation to the other teeth in your mouth. This universal numbering system makes it a lot easier for dentists to understand which tooth needs dental work or which tooth is more sensitive than saying, "It's the pointy one on the left that shows when I smile."  Fortunately, dentists understand that not many people care to understand the numbering system, but if you're interested, try using it at your next appointment!
